Warning: Giving Away Your Old Cell Phone? Think Again!

Credit card numbers. Bank passwords. Business secrets. Proof of adultery. If you give away your cell phone, you may be giving away all of those things -- and more. In the case of a married man who was cheating around, deleting the information on his ... cell wasn't enough to completely eliminate the sordid secrets he had stored there -- even though he did exactly as the manual instructed. Despite that, the guy he sold his phone to on Ebay was quickly able to scoop out the hanky panky. This reads like a bad, cheesy soap opera -- but it's real. And it could happen to you. Even if you aren't ... (view more)

New Movie Chronicles a Special Time in Computer Game History

Imagine a game without graphics or sound. To succeed, all players need are reasonable spelling and typing skills -- not a speedy trigger finger or lightning-fast eye-hand coordination. Imagine something like this... "You wake up. The room is ... spinning very gently round your head. Or at least it would be if you could see it -- which you can't. It is pitch black." That is how the computer game version of The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy begins. Based on the famous book by Douglas Adams, the all-text game was released in 1984 by Infocom, Inc. The Wal-Mart Cell Phone Terrorism Fiasco

According to Police Chief Benson Page of Caro, Michigan, cell phones can be used as detonators. Who would've thought? So, naturally, when three men were found with almost a thousand cell phones on hand, they became instant terror suspects. 80 of ... those phones were pre-paid TracFone models from Wal-Mart.
