It's time for another Gazette Reader poll!  Send me your thoughts on this one (email address below)...

Janel L. from Quebec writes:

" I've always wondered about this and wondered if you had an answer, so here goes. This info could also benefit your readers.

When someone buys a new computer either brand name or clone that is preloaded with an OS, is the seller 'obliged' to give the client an original CD as he/she obviously paid for the license when they bought the computer? I realize that shops probably use a "multi-installation" CD, but where does that leave said client when problems arise?

What are the legal, if any, obligations of the seller in this matter?

Thanks for your time, and I'd like to wish you and your family the merriest of Holiday Season with wishes for heath, joy and happiness for the New Year.

Oh yeah I forgot, I also wish you a whole slew of new subscribers that will buy your eBooks.

Janel L.
Trois-Rivieres, QC "

My Response:

Unfortunately, I don't know the answer to this question.  I *think* that sellers must legally provide an original CD of some kind?

If you know the answer, email me (below) and I'll post your response in the next newsletter.cool smiley
