Edit Your Own Custom Dictionary: MS Word

" I've just finished reading your previous article, 'Disable Custom Dictionary in MS Word', and was wondering: how can I edit my own custom dictionary? I ask this because at one time I ran spell check on a document and accidentally added a misspelled word to my custom dictionary. I wanted to remove the misspelled word from the dictionary, but couldn't figure out how to do it. Can you suggest anything? "

Absolutely!
To remove words from your custom dictionaries:
- Launch MS Word.
- Go to Tools | Options | Spelling & Grammar; on the Tools menu, click Options. Then click the Spelling & Grammar tab.
- Select your dictionary; make sure you do not clear its check box, and then click Modify.
- At this point, you can do one of the following: To add a word, type it in the Word box, and then click Add. To delete a word, select it in the Dictionary box, and then click Delete. To edit a word, delete it, and then add it with the spelling you want.
That's it!
One other thing worth noting: you cannot remove words from the Default dictionary in Word.
