In addition to spending the rest of my life with the future Mrs. Robin Ludington, I'm also taking on the responsibility of being a father to Robin's 2 year old son, Wyatt.
The fundamentals of Toddler Temptation
Adjusting to the curiosity of a two-year-old required some drastic rethinking of how my home office is set up. At the time I met Robin, I hadn't really planned on small children spending any time at my apartment. After meeting Wyatt for the first few times, however, his interaction helped me to discover just how much my office environment did not adhere to child safety issues.
Imploring a Plan of Action
Initially, I concentrated on 'the obvious' by eliminating anything that had the potential to put Wyatt in physical danger. And after he mangled some fairly important contract papers I left within toddler reach, I soon realized that I also needed to completely overhaul my workspace.
With so many things to consider -- and based on my own experience in the past year of learning how to make a work-at-home environment co-exist with a small child -- I decided to put together a step-by-step eBook which explains the fundamentals of creating a Child Safe Home Office.
In short, the guide examines the following topics in detail:
- Childproofing Basics
- Maintaining the Office Power Grid
- Choosing a Child Safe Desk
- Ergonomics, Chairs, and Children
