Angry Birds App Behind New Theme Parks

Angry Birds, the free, downloadable video game that has become so popular it has been downloaded an estimated 10 million times, will soon become the premise for a chain of 'real life' theme parks to be built around the world by the game-maker. Until ... now, the game has been available only in the 'virutal world,' such as for Apple's iPhone, the iPad, Android devices, and various other game-playing platforms. (Source: bbc.co.uk ) The game itself is simple: players launch birds at pigs on a stage, with the goal being to eliminate all of the pigs. According to reports, Angry Birds maker Rovio has ... (view more)

PETA Says Super Mario Murders Animals for Fur

Nintendo's Super Mario Bros. is one of the most successful (and recognizable) video game franchises ever marketed. But as Nintendo attempts to move forward with their latest Mario adventure, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) has ... stepped in to try and make some changes to lovable plumber's wardrobe. Sadly, Mario is learning that his early 90's style is not "politically correct" in 2011 society. Raccoon-Suit No Longer "Politically Correct" Back in 1990, when Super Mario Bros. 3 was first released in the United States, the protagonist sported a distinctive raccoon-like suit that ... (view more)

Masked Men Hijack $1M Worth of Video Games

Hi-tech thieves used low-tech means to steal a half a million dollars worth of video games last week. The way it was done almost sounds like a plot from a video game -- but this incident was no laughing matter. One truck was passing through Creteil, ... in the south of Paris; a car then crashed into the truck, stopping it. Two masked men then appeared, used tear gas on the truck drivers, and drove away with the truck containing about 6,000 copies of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. The estimated value of the heist is more than $500,000 US dollars. A second robbery took place on the same day in ... (view more)

A new update to the PSN terms and conditions says that a user agrees ... that any dispute with Sony must be taken to a neutral arbitrator rather than going to the courts. This includes not only disputes about the terms and conditions themselves, but also any alleged breaches of the law. (Source: pcworld.com ) It's likely many users will simply click to agree the new rules without reading them. Those that do agree are ... (view more)

For gamers, it's a momentous event that was also a long time coming. In the ... realm of sports, there are some very notable rivalries: Celtics and Bulls, Yankees and Red Sox, Canadiens and Bruins. Wal-Mart Honors $249 Xbox 360, Kinect Until Sept 5

Last weekend Wal-Mart mistakenly advertised a Microsoft Xbox 360 and Kinect bundle for $249, considerably less than its actual retail price. Despite the slip-up, it seems the ubiquitous retailer will honor the bundle's mistaken price. We've seen a ... number of price errors in recent months. The most glaring and embarrassing error was made by Sears, which in July accidentally advertised an Apple iPad 2 for just $69, or 86 per cent less than its typical retail price. Lawyer Disbarred Over Video Game 'Addiction'

A Pennsylvania lawyer has been suspended after blaming a video game addiction for sloppy work. His actions, or lack of them, led to seventeen separate complaints from clients.
