March Madness Comes To Microsoft's Media Center

Microsoft is attempting to boost use of its Media Center tools by offering a sports channel. The programming kicks off with extensive coverage of college basketball's March Madness. The new channel, which goes live this week, will include footage ... from Fox, MSNBC and CBS. There will be no subscription charge or other costs. The footage is only available in the Vista edition and is not compatible with the Windows 7 Beta. YouTube to Peer Filter Video Content

Google has dedicated a substantial amount of time revamping the comment sections on their popular YouTube website. Google will modify certain sections to address those concerned with the apparent lack of restriction, and conversely, lack of freedom ... in regards to their online media database. CBS to Webcast Evening News with Katie Couric

CBS has announced that it will begin streaming a live Webcast of Katie Couric's new gig, the "Evening News" when the program makes its official debut on September 5, 2006. This news piggybacks on CBS's recent announcement that it will offer Webcasts ... of several of its popular primetime programs including: "CSI," "NCIS," "Survivor," "Jericho," and "Numbers."
