TrID
TrID is designed to identify file types based on their binary signatures. It is extensible and can be trained to recognize new formats in a fast and automatic way. This type of utility could be useful for determining which programs are associated with certain file types -- such as a .DOC file belonging to MS Word, for example.
PDFTools
PDFTools is a PDF (portable document file) management application. It can encrypt, decrypt, join, split, stamp, create and rearrange a PDF file. Version 1.1+ includes a very powerful and simple to use XML to PDF converter.
