Gazette Reader Bill M. writes: " Dear Dennis, I just finished reading last week's Gazette article entitled, "Print MP3 Playlist?", and have a related question that I'd like to ask.
For several years, I've been using both Macintosh and PC systems for graphic
design. On a Macintosh system, it is possible to print the file and directory structure for a folder being examined
when using File Manager (the equivalent of Windows Explorer). However, I have yet to find this feature present in MS Windows!
My work-around (thus far) has been to press Shift + PrintScreen on my keyboard to copy an image into the clipboard, then launch my word processor, and press Shift + Insert to paste the image. This essentially makes a screen capture; the only problem with this method is that I cannot manipulate the capture as I normally would with any text-based document because the screen capture is in fact an image (and not text).
I am sure there is a long-standing solution to this for Windows, but I have always thought Bill Gates would have thought of it sooner. If not, maybe you can point me in the right direction? Thanks for any advice you can offer, and keep up the good work! " My response: There isn't a "native" way to do this in Windows (unless you know your way around MS DOS)
-- but there are a number of freeware alternatives you can use. I've covered
this question in a previous Gazette, with respect to printing Music Filenames from a file folder [note that you can use this same method to print any folder].See: Print Music Filenames, Part 2
