How Can I Stop the Annoying Voice on My Asus Motherboard?

" Dear Dennis,
Firstly, let me thank you for your great newsletters. They are a wealth of information! I have Windows XP installed on system which consists of an Asus P4B (Pentium 4 capable motherboard). My problem is that whenever Windows XP begins to load, I hear a voice that says, 'System completed power-on self test; computer now booting from Operating System.'
Can you please tell me how to remove this annoying feature?! I have to shut off my speakers every time I boot my computer to avoid hearing this annoying voice? "
My Response:
I can't say that I've been lucky enough to experience this problem.
I'm not sure if this is related to the motherboard or not, or if it's some Windows XP feature. Heck, it might even be a sound clip that the computer manufacturer put into the Windows Start sound (side note: Sounds are available and configurable at the Control Panel).
Anyway, I don't have an answer to this. So, I'm asking the Infopackets Readers to answer this one for me, and I'll post it in the next newsletter.
