Display the Tabs Dialog Box Quickly in MS Word

Dennis Faas's picture

As you are all aware, I am all about saving time and keystrokes and setting the tabs in my documents is no exception.

Simply double-click on the ruler just below the markings. Make certain that you double-click at the bottom of the ruler instead of the top. If you double-click at the top, you might be surprised to see the Page Setup dialog box appear.

Please take care that you do not inadvertently set a tab stop when you double-click on the ruler, but if you do so, you can delete the newly created tab stop at the Tabs dialog box or simply drag it off the ruler.
